Latest News

Well, our life is picking up quickly. We are feeling led to move to a new home. It seems a bit wild but we really feel the Lord is leading in this as He has brought this new home to us and it provides for our needs but is also in a more quiet, secure location. We are so grateful for our first home and the way the Lord has used it to help us settle and confirm our calling here. Now we find ourselves excited about a place where we can, Lord willing focus more on ministry than house issues. Though a move seems a bit daunting to the newly pregnant lady we are trusting the Lord with all the details. We are hoping to be in our new home by April.

Ladies Bible study started this last Tues. at Pastor Stephen and Maureen's place and though there were just two women, it was a blessing to begin the book of Matthew with them. They are excited to keep the Bible study consistent and to see more women come. As I write, Matt is at Wed. Bible study this evening and had a chance to begin teaching inductive Bible study with a Pastor from Kisi this afternoon. He is also preparing for the Friday night worship evening to start again this Friday.

On a Kenyan note, we had two bats in our house last night. One was in the stairwell and one was doing a marathon in Mike and Karen's room. That one disappeared but the one in the stairwell did not live long as it was taken down with a skillet that remains upstairs in Mike and Karen's room and is just for bats. This afternoon we heard an incredibly loud POP and realized that the fuse for electricity blew and we lost it for quite awhile. Normally it is off for anywhere from 10 -20 hours but we were so blessed to get it back on late this afternoon. God is so gracious!

Thank you for your prayers and love in this adventure and journey!

Refreshed

We had an amazing time at the rain forest. We reconnected as a family, rested, prayed, hiked and took in God's amazing creation. We were also able to come up with a schedule of what life will look like now that we are back and had some good conversations. We praise God for the time away and for this beautiful place called Rondo.

Rainforest Retreat

The P4 is headed out for a family/prayer retreat in a nearby rain forest. Please be in prayer with us for our home here in Kisumu and whether we are to stay or move, the ministry with Stephen, to the expats and fellow missionaries here in Kisumu.

We are excited to have this much needed time. Thank you for praying for us.

Home!

We are finally home! I cried when we entered Kisumu, mostly because of relief and because it felt like it had been so long since we had been home. OK, I also cried for 3 days at night in Nairobi and struggled being away from our family. Ever since I was a little girl I always grieved the end of something good. Wether it was a vacation, or holiday time with family I always remember grieving a bit. Being pregnant and jet lagged added to this grief over the end of furlough. It was a hard adjustment back even rougher than our first time but the Lord was so faithful to walk me through it and help me adjust. And now that we are home it is ever so sweet! We are still unpacking and adjusting to the heat though we are currently having cooler weather! Yea! I thought getting back to the way of living here would be harder having enjoyed so many comforts of America and not having to worry about mosquitoes and nets and so much more but it feels a bit like riding a bike. Nets go down, rooms get sprayed, fans go on, KG gets wiped down when going out at night. :) It's familiar and feels normal. What grace! We have also enjoyed seeing so many of our dear friends here that we love and praise God for the beautiful community and support we have here. Let the ministry begin! Peg for The P4
